He used a blow horn at a protest, the NYPD then stormed his apartment — here’s what we know

It’s another day in New York City and one of the worst police organisations in America is back to what it does best: terrorising black residents. As the weekend kicked off, a Black Lives Matter leader found himself in an intense stand off with police amid claims that a blow horn he used damaged a cop’s hearing (you’re reading that correctly.)

According to the New York Times, that protester has been identified as Derrick Ingram who police say damaged a cop’s hearing by using a blow horn on 12 July in Queens. At the time, Ingram and his coalition group were in a heated exchange with a pro-cop group in Queens. It remains unclear as to why the cops nearly violently entered his apartment over the use of a blow horn.
