Here is the 3 stage plan that the UK hopes will lead to a grand reopening

On Sunday as expected Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that not only is the lockdown extended but there is now a three-stage governmental plan to reopen. According to Downing Street, the lockdown s extended in a way but people will be allowed to pretty much fully resume their normal lives.

From Monday on —- people are allowed to go to the park; step outside for exercise, and pretty much everything else they’d normally do. The only caveat is that they apparently will have to do so with members of their own family (although it remains unclear how the government would enforce that.)

While the UK works towards a 3-step reopening plan, efforts to quarantine; social distance, and lockdown the region will remain in place while those said plans are carried out. People who break lockdown (again, not sure how the government intends to enforce the “family only part”) will be subject to increased fines by police when stopped.

According to PM Johnson…

“In step two — at the earliest by June 1 — after half term — we believe we may be in a position to begin the phased reopening of shops and to get primary pupils back into schools, in stages, beginning with reception, Year 1 and Year 6,” he said.

As for step 3 “re-opening at least some of the hospitality industry and other public places, provided they are safe and enforce social distancing”. This would take place at the earliest in July, depending on the data.
