MANHATTAN, NEW YORK — Almost exactly four years to the day in the murder of Eric Garner, NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo is expected to finally see his day in court for his brutality against Garner. According to the NYPD, the department has begun disciplinary actions against Pantaleo that will eventually lead to his day in court.
Pantaleo was famously seen on cell phone video in 2014 choking Garner to death using a form of a chokehold that is banned under NYPD’s arrest policy. However, lawyers, did indeed attempt to argue that it was. In fact a takedown maneuver actually taught by the department — despite the obvious chokehold caught on video.
He is expected to go to trial this fall. In other news, he has had a paid desk job at the NYPD since 2014.
