According to palace reports, and the London Evening Standard, Queen Elizabeth II will not actually host a state dinner for US leader Donald Trump. Queen Elizabeth has famously met with almost every U.S President Since Eisenhowever, minus, Lyndon B. Johnson.
The Standard notes that it may happen in the future, but, given the massive protests that occurred earlier this year — the trouble over Trump ‘s arrival might give the state reason to cancel his state visit all together.
Earlier this year, Trump, was slated to visit the U.K for various reasons but was met by unanimous protests before his arrival. Attempts to speak at legislative gatherings, and, the cutting of ribbons among various ceremonies were cut short after British officials decided to end his trip to the United Kingdom — presumably amid fears of mass violence.
