Puerto Rico ravaged by Hurricane Maria

So badly ravaged, that, according to the office of the Governor the entire island is out of power.  The Governors office confirmed Friday morning that Puerto Rico lost power as Maria struck the island.   The Hurricane, is, the worst to have struck the island in more than 70 years.  Officials say that it could be “4 to 6 months” before the island sees any form of power again.

Shelter officials confirmed to The Daily News that some 12,000 people have been displaced as of this writing. Meanwhile, all current power in government offices and  hospitals (and shelters) is actually coming from generators.  Officials aren’t sure how long they will last, and, are fearful that the entire island could go completely dark.
