The pointless structure they built inside the Hudson Yards has become a suicide hotspot

And that just so happens to be during the pandemic which has caused a spike for some and their mental health. New York City starting today has ordered that The Hudson Yards and its developer close what is known as the "Vessel." The massive structure of connected staircases will close today marking its indefinite closure until the developer can reportedly address the massive safety concern surrounding the collection of staircases. Safety concerns emerged again this week after reports of a 3rd suicide involving a 21-year-old man from Texas. According to the New York Post, that same man was wanted in Texas in connection to the reported stabbing-death of his own mother.

Republicans are now staging a full blown coup against the United States but who will stop them?

House Republican efforts in the United States are shaping up to resemble nothing short of a coup attempt against the United States. Vulnerable Senator Kelly Loeffler who likely will lose the GA Senate runoff has now confirmed that she will join Republicans in objecting to the Electoral College win in a matter days. The win of course being that of Joe Biden claiming that Trump and his supporters are entitled to a fair hearing over voter fraud allegations that have never been proven. "On January 6th, I will vote to give President Trump and the American people the fair hearing they deserve and support the objection to the Electoral College certification process," Loeffler said in a statement on her official Twitter account. Loeffler joins a growing number of Washington Republi...

The chaotic final days of Trump are here and they’re gearing up to be an American Horror Story

Trump 's final days in office are shaping up to be nothing short of a wild two weeks that either could be fairly calm (although they won't be) or could be detrimental to the very near future of the United States. Trump 's presidency in itself could be described using such words as: tantrums, misinformation, golfing, and of course extremism. Extremism often even so extreme it makes actual extremism look like a cake walk compared to the damage that the Trump Administration has single-handedly inflicted on the very fabric that America has come to be in modern day. In his final days, Trump has kept true to the many assumptions that some had about him. Assumptions that were initially ferociously denied by even his most staunch of supporters. Assumptions that would now come into play in a...

It’s 2021 and VR prison programs are on the rise

In the age of demands for prison reform there's one program on the rise as a new year has taken hold. Against the backdrop of a larger discussion over systematic prison reform -- VR prisons are taking hold because they could potentially provide a less abusive form of rehabilitation. Less abusive in terms of how prison has never done good for others; never actually provided much of its own rehab claims, and often caused more problems than good. Right now VR prisons are mostly used to host training programs; This might seem counterintuitive to the idea of prisons and how they were originally designed but they were never designed with anything other than profits in mind. Profits and often levels of abuse so inhumane that they would make even the worst of horror movies seem like ...

Guest Column: My Best Friend’s Dad is a U.S Senator, he’s also secretly gay and paying men for sex

Editors Note: For obvious reasons we cannot reveal the identity of the author of this article given that we were able to verify that they are indeed close with the child of a U.S Senator. Names have been redacted from this guest-article to prevent accidental identification of the Senator involved or the party who revealed this wild story. This column is part of our internal poll we took of our users in which we asked them to share the wildest stories they've experienced throughout the end of 2019 (when the virus took hold) until now. Having grown up in Washington D.C, I have had my fair share of political associations and sidekicks simply for having gone to the same schools as other people. Now 28 I work as a political operative of sorts for the Republican Party of ...

My Dad left my Mom for his brother but then left his brother for her cousin and now they’re married

Editors Note: This guest column contains references to incest relationships which are controversial, thus, still somewhat common today. The views contained in this guest editorial do not represent the views of The Daily News or its editorial staff. In some parts of the world and the U.S incest is still very much illegal -- while in others it is alive and well. You could easily argue that my relationship with my father has always been controversial. His family is from the backwoods of America, indeed, the part of the country where they believe almost anything told to them so long as it came from a white person in power. He has always had some twisted views on the world, notably, that anyone who isn't white likely doesn't come from earth and if they do they should be imprisone...

Guest Column: What it’s like being mentally ill during the pandemic, and how I learned to make it work for me

Editors note: This guest column references disabilities; social net programmes, and more. The views expressed in this article have been verified for accuracy in reference to these programs and how they work. The views of the author themselves do not directly reflect those of The Daily News, although, we do sympathize with the disabled community as a whole. ——————- When the pandemic struck I was in the midst of finding out that I as what should’ve been a grown and fairly young man had debilitating mental illnesses that otherwise would soon prevent me from ever having a 9-5 job again. Some of those mental illnesses were brought on by a number of sexual assaults, particularly, one that almost left me for dead and with an unrelenting fear of men. A fear of men that became so st...

The pandemic pushed me to get a Ring doorbell for my apartment, it was the best thing I’ve ever done

Truth is the pandemic has brought on a crime wave that I've never seen in my lifetime. I've lived in various cities and even countries; different neighborhoods and those in between but I have never seen it at times this bad. The onset of the pandemic finally pushed me to secure my home a little better with the help of Citizen (a neighborhood watch like app) and that of a Ring doorbell. I live in SoCal. Myself and my girlfriend live together but often find that all types of stragglers and the like wander through the halls of our complex at all hours of the night. A couple of months ago as home restrictions took place, a man broke into the apartment next door only to use it as means to attempt to spy on a young woman that lived across the breezeway. He was apparently using the window...

Republicans are burning themselves to the ground at remarkable breakneck speeds

In what likely will be the end of the GOP 's control over the Senate, Mitch McConnell (unless he suddenly does an about face) has effectively sealed the GOP 's fate. Senator Loeffler and Perdue were both already struggling in Georgia, and against the backdrop of arguments that the GOP isn't doing enough for Americans, they began to struggle even more as polls and discussions went on. On Tuesday, Mitch McConnell effectively ended any hopes right now of increased stimulus to Americans. This means, however, that people should increasingly pay attention to Mitch 's own moves and his financial interests from here on out. During Tuesday 's session, Mitch refused to bring to the floor a vote that would otherwise either reject or grant the piece of legislation that would swiftly incre...

Stop lying to yourselves, the Nashville bomber is just that a domestic terrorist like many others before him

Domestic terrorists that often don't get identified or photo'd because well let's keep it frank quite a few reasons. Anthony Quinn Warner as he has been identified by numerous outlets has been pretty much called anything except what he should be: a domestic terrorist. Whether outlets are stopping themselves from identifying him entirely out of respect to prevent copycat attacks is one thing. But this has become all too common. When white men particularly commit major crimes; terror threats, actual terror attacks, they're almost never identified with their rightfully earned new title. One might remember how one Dylan Roof, also a domestic terrorist, was notoriously walked into his arrest and then to Burger King before being taken to jail. You'd be hard pressed to actually ...

Guest Column: I survived homelessness in NYC, but here’s what I want people to know

Editors note: The following column is a guest column from a guest-user who has asked not to be identified because they have since managed to get their life together and do not want the attention this article would otherwise bring. The individual, identified only as John Doe, is 24 and survived homelessness in as they say ('the hellhole that is New York City'.) The views expressed in this article are not endorsed by The Daily News or its editorial writers. If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness in New York City, please call 3-1-1 for a referral to a crisis centre. I fell homeless when I was all but 21. My boyfriend that I had been with for about 3 years suddenly began cheating on me; turned violent, and abrasive after I had caught him in enough lies that it...

Netflix has been sued over claims that it stole the storyline for its smash hit #OuterBanks

Netflix Inc has had a wildly successful year but this time part of that year may come crashing down. For those that haven’t seen it — Outer Banks is a popular Netflix show about a group of rag-tag teenagers that eventually stumble across a reported treasure. The story aptly takes place along what is known the “Outer Banks” of North Carolina. Wooten is demanding damages and a title credit in the episodes indicating that the story is based on his novel series. The problem is there is now an author who says Netflix appears to have lifted the entire storyline from his popular self-published series that was previously available online. That author has reportedly been identified as K.W. Wooten — the author of the series now known to be Pennywise: The Hunt For Blackbeard ‘s Treasure. ...

Here’s what I’d like people to understand about pocket watching and why it has to stop

As funny as it is — pocket watching has nothing to do with an actual watch (someone actually asked me that) but everything to do with watching the wallet of someone else. Pocket Watching is simply lingo that means to watch the financial means and spending of another, usually, because someone else wants to control them or doesn’t approve of their spending habits. In some cases there are hints of jealousy involved because one may have more money than the other (and we’re not just talking about common folk v celebrity) this is often common folk v common folk. The Coronavirus pandeic has emboldened that very movement. With the rise of unemployment claims in America; people in need, people looking for the rare delight of self-pleasure these days, social media has been lit up more than ...

Steve Bannon has been dropped by his lawyers amid tweets inciting violence: Report

Looks like Steve Bannon is out of profesisonal legal help. According to Law & Order (no pun intended), Bannon ‘s legal team has moved to be dropped from his case amid unreported differences behind the scenes. The team apparently didn’t vibe very well with Bannon ‘s tweets that tried to incite violence against Anthony Fauci and the term beheading. In this Aug. 20, 2020, file photo, President Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon speaks with reporters in New York after pleading not guilty to charges that he ripped off donors to an online fundraising scheme to build a southern border wall.   (AP Photo/Eduardo Munoz Alvarez, File) The same site now notes that Bannon has asked a judge for a three week repireve so that he can find new representation.
