Now that we have your attention it is time we discuss the Supreme Court. WE IMPLORE YOU TO KEEP READING THIS IS IMPORTANT. As many of you know as one of the most famous lines in movie history goes (“The call is coming from inside the house.”) This arguably can be on a blanket-level scale applied to America as we speak as the country is under siege by the far-right. Except for this time the far-right has their hands on the Supreme Court giving the fringe the right to destroy American democracy as they see fit with little recourse to be stopped.
Because this post is what we consider an urgent broadcast message it will remain on the front page of this newspaper throughout the year.
In this article towards the bottom, we are attaching links to ensure people know how to register to vote ahead of major elections as they continue to take place leading into the midterms this year.
We hope we still have your attention because we are about to go over some very important recent rulings by the conservative majority that are poised to upend almost every way of life in America. We’d like to reiterate here that Americans should not be fooled — you guys are being played by those in power. Americans have been sold to the highest bidder.
It should be noted that technically the Supreme Court interprets the constitution but does not actually make the law as it goes. This is in part why it appears they’re returning the issue to the states but as many are aware doing so effectively ends the United States of America. By returning issues to the states, an American map depicting illegal vs legal would look more like a game of connect four rather than an informational map.
We’re going to start with some wildly informative Twitter threads exploring the flurry of high-court decisions in the past 2 weeks.
Then there’s this (we’re going to detail why the thread below is vital for you to read in less than two paragraphs.)
The case mentioned Moore vs Harper if it is ruled as expected the Supreme Court is about to hand the right to determine elections to states who partake in gerrymandering. Republicans control both sides of the seat of power in 30 U.S states. This would effectively give them the power to decide elections as they see fit entirely dismissing people’s votes on a much larger scale than most probably even imagined was possible. It would not matter who is declared the legal winner Republicans would be able to fix the election as they see fit if the power is handed back to the state’s in this particular case. If you do nothing else today on this glorious Friday please take a look at that thread. Your life and your rights as an American citizen are under siege from the inside. Unfortunately, this isn’t a joke.
A WISE PERSON ONCE SAID WHEN PEOPLE START TO SHOW YOU WHO THEY ARE…. BELIEVE THEM. THOSE CONSERVATIVES ARE SHOWING YOU GUYS EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE. THE MORE PEOPLE TURN A BLIND IDEA TO THIS THEY WILL GET AWAY WITH THEIR END GOAL.
2. Most Americans are probably familiar with the phrase (“You have the right to remain silent”) and so on…
Whether you have been arrested or not you’ve probably heard of what is known as Miranda Rights in the United States. Miranda Rights were granted to Americans back in 1966 (It involved a man named Ernesto Miranda) following a case that involved obviously the police and how they interrogated people during and after an arrest. As it goes, the case led to Miranda Rights becoming the cultural norm which in most cases must be read to a suspect as they are being arrested. Generally speaking, this can complicate things when officers do not do such because it is actually required.

Not anymore though. In the recent Supreme Court ruling the majority ruled that Miranda rights still exist but are actually not constitutionally required. This is a very bad hot take for most people as this now means that if the power goes fully back to the states on this they will be able to determine if precincts have to follow this. Most can probably guess how this would be used against people a community may not like or non-white people. One does not have to go very far to figure it out. But its just as bad for everyone else.
IF THE VOTING PART GETS OVERTURNED NEWSFLASH AMERICA… THE RIGHT CAN DECIDE NO MATTER WHAT EVEN IF THE OPPOSITE OF THAT DECISION ACTUALLY OCCURRED. THIS SHOULD SCARE YOU BECAUSE IT INVALIDATES ONE OF THE MOST BASIC RIGHTS OF A SO-CALLED AMERICAN. THE RIGHT TO CAST YOUR VOTE. IT WOULD NO LONGER MATTER.
Americans must ask themselves if the Supreme Court is going to gut common everyday rights including those of the Miranda Rights then what is the point of the police at that point? If they’re not present to protect people and communities then that means they are only there to actually be used against everyday Americans. This should sound pretty familiar because that was actually the original purpose of the police once upon a time in American history. Republicans don’t want people to know this tidbit so we’re going to share this about policing in America.
Centuries ago (19th-century type stuff here and later think before modern life in any form) policing in America was not what it is today. It hadn’t evolved yet to what it is now which is just a repurposed modern version of what it was with less illegal terms and a better messaging campaign. Back in the day, policing was actually meant to as you guessed it protect the property of those in power hence in this case during this period would’ve been the ruling class largely often composed of wealthy white Americans and what is known as “dark money” (dark money is defined as a source of large sums of money with no real origin or the origin cannot be easily found.) Probably wasn’t called dark money during this period of time but like modern politicians, the previous was probably just as corrupt they just didn’t know how to largely define it.
Hate them or love them the only way to stop the Republicans is actually the Democrats. By expanding the Democrat’s majority in the Senate, erm, they might actually be able to get something done because they’d have more votes to do so. Republicans are holding allot of things up in America but won’t actually admit that in their usually edited and wildly misleading campaign ads.
Police back in the day did not have to comply with almost any of the common rights people had today as the rights didn’t exist. Under the previous form of policing in America, people particularly minorities and Black people were also subjected to being chased down and hunted by police as they were then known as slave catchers.
To illustrate how bizarre policing in America is we’ve included what a police badge looked like say 200 years ago or so if not longer to what one looks like now. This is important because as far as justices like Alito are concerned America should look like it did in the mid-18th century rather than the 21st century mostly “in the name of the constitution and traditionalism.”
The Supreme Court largely ignores the fact that the constitution can be amended though that is a process in itself and it should be amended all but every 50 or so years if we’re being truly honest here. A 200 year old document should not control life 200 years later in a much different world.
There’s nothing violent about the following photograph but when one ponders what this meant for ordinary people during this period it is a grim thought that the majority is taking America back to this period of time. One could safely gather that at a time when things like “Miranda Rights” didn’t exist that the cops in most forms in which they took at the time were likely far crueler than modern people probably could even fathom.
We decided it was important to mention this particular bit because alas a Supreme Court ruling involving the police is making its rounds (different from the Miranda ruling which loosens the requirements all together but does not outlaw them but makes it to where police cannot be sued for failing to tell a suspect their rights.)
It’s the case of qualified immunity and the fact that the Supreme Court ruled in the Texas case that officials involved in the case including jail staff should be granted what is known as qualified immunity. This effectively mutes any lawsuits against officials in the case. You can read more about the case over at Reuters.
This is important because the Supreme Court is saying that jail officials like cops should be shielded essentially from accountability. If both officers and jail officials are allowed to go around with qualified immunity from ever answering for abuse or misconduct claims — there are no limits to what officials can do to people and almost universally get away with. If you haven’t figured it out the original case involves a Texas jail and a number of inmates who accused jail officials and the company of some pretty serious misconduct allegations.
