A popular sunscreen is being recalled over fears that it contains carcinogens

Sunscreens are generally used to help prevent things like skin cancer and extreme exposure to the sun but for one brand voluntarily recalls are on the way. According to the makers of Banana Boat, the company and its owners have decided to pull the product amid concerns that it may having cancer causing agents inside of it.

Edgewell Personal Care Co., maker of Banana Boat products, is issuing a nationwide recall of three batches of the sunscreen spray.

The recalled batches have expiration dates of December 2022, February 2023 or April 2024. The concern first arose after it was found that the product has traces of benzene in it. Benzene is listed as a human carcinogen.
