Following her shocking comments about the Holocaust Whoopi Goldberg won’t be back on The View for at least two weeks. For those who have been catching up on the drama, Golberg notoriously said that the Holocaust wasn’t based on race but rather cruelty on behalf of man. Now let’s point out here that the Holocaust perhaps should be considered both.
One part racism one part man’s own cruelty to man.
ABC confirmed yesterday evening that she’d be suspended for at least two weeks for a ‘period’ of self-reflection.
“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said in a statement.
“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments,” Godwin added. “The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”
