Ex Obama advisor pleads guilty to wire fraud after scamming the school in which he created

A massive scheme; a charter school, and an ex-Obama advisor is how the weekend is shaping up so far. According to the Associated Press, a former advisor to the then Obama administration is going to federal prions for wire fraud to the tune of more than $218,000.

Seth Andrew, 42, a founder of Democracy Prep, entered a guilty plea in Manhattan ‘s federal court this week after it was found that he was skimming proceeds out of escrow accounts belonging to Democracy Prep. It is an extraordinary fall considering Andrew also co-created the school and had initially claimed to have a desire to help other people and students.

“I am truly sorry for what I have done,” an emotional Andrew, his voice cracking, told Judge John P. Cronan. “What I did was wrong and I deeply regret my actions. And, as I stand before you today, I have tremendous remorse for the impact it has had on the schools, the alumni and my own family.”
