Steve Bannon has been indicted for his refusal to cooperate with the U.S Congress

Former Republican strategist Steve Bannon is in deep trouble. According to reports, a grand jury has indicted the Republican con-artist turned strategist on two counts of Contempt of Congress. The U.S has not indicted someone on such charges in at least 38 years according to several experts.

Each of the two counts one for Contempt the other for refusing to provide documentation carries up to 1 year each in prison with $1,000 in fines per charge. Democrats are billing the news as the “return of the rule of law” but we’d like to remind people that Democrats are neither innocent themselves. The developments nonetheless are stunning.

“The Grand Jury indictment of Steve Bannon shows that even the insurrectionist allies of Donald Trump are not above the law and the American justice system is back in business,” Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) tweeted. “Violate Congressional subpoenas and court orders at your own risk.”
