A love letter to South Africa

Dear South Africans and others,

Despite what you may read in the news out of the western world — most people still adore you and we love you. You are not our enemy because the world has found another COVID variant that was detected but probably not originated from the continent. Your quick work; scientific approach, and robust response to the discovery should be applauded and heralded in the fight against the Coronavirus.

This like most anger from the west will pass. Variants have been detected before in other places, South Africa nor the continent in general, should be blamed for this one simply because it was detected on the continent.

These are scary times we live in. Hug your neighbours; your friends, and someone you care about.
