A cartel expert has issued a stunning warning to those looking to hit it in Mexico

Hit it meaning the streets evidently to a party or a watering hole. According to the New York Post, a cartel expert has issued a dire warning for travelers hoping to soak up the sun in Mexico. This year alone there have been multiple instances of alleged cartel-linked-murders spanning Tulum to the outskirts of several nearby cities.

In the Tulum cartel incident, a woman died in the crossfire and wasn’t even related in anyway to the cartel — in the other a woman was notoriously ran over by alleged cartel members using vehicles as weapons.

This image was recently snapped in Mexico according to the Post. It is understood to mean in translation that bribes must handed over by shopkeepers to drug and cartel leaders or else. It is the latest sign for a struggling area that has largely been overrun by gang members.

A day after the murder of two tourists in Tulum, a group called Los Pelones posted a threatening hand-written sign at a Tulum market.
