Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, the killer who opened fire at King Soopers in Boulder Colorado has been identified

The massacre in Boulder Colorado at a King Soopers has caught international headlines once more. According to everything that is known so far — we’ve got your roundup on the latest in regards to the tragic shooting. As of 2pm today, the shooter has been formally identified as Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, Alissa, 21, has been charged with at least 10 counts of murder and is expected to be transferred to the county jail in the area soon.

Believed to be Syrian-American born, Alissa, 21, is a hard hitting wrestling fan which may have contributed to his violent personality.

The Sun and the Mirror report that Alissa may have some form of mental illness that was left untreated. Having migrated to the U.S in 2002, Alissa has a long and documented history of allegedly hearing voices according to an interview by his siblings. Both of his siblings reportedly gave an interview to The Daily Beast acknowleding his apparent past struggles with mental health.

The siblings told The Daily Beast that Ahmad was “very anti-social” and when younger would describe “being chased, someone is behind him, someone is looking for him.”

“When he was having lunch with my sister in a restaurant, he said, ‘People are in the parking lot, they are looking for me.’ She went out, and there was no one. We didn’t know what was going on in his head,” Alissa told the outlet, reportedly admitting that he believes his brother is mentally ill.
