Anna Wintour denies that Vogue intentionally did Kamala Harris wrong although nobody’s convinced

Wintour has spoken but nobody’s quite sure if it will silence critics who say once again she has failed Black people. For those who aren’t yet aware, Wintour released a duo-set of images starring Kamala Harris in a blue suit and Kamala Harris in a Black suit. The latter featured Harris in a pair of trainers that according to some seemed a little inappropriate considering this is Harris ‘s first magazine cover as the first-ever elected woman VP and Black woman at that.

“We felt to reflect this tragic moment and global history, a much less formal picture, something that was very, very accessible and approachable and real, really reflected the hallmark of the Biden-Harris campaign and everything they’re trying to, and I’m sure will, achieve,” Wintour said in a statement to Kara Swisher, host of the New York Times‘ popular “Sway Podcast.”

It remains unclear exactly what transpired but according to the Podcast interview Wintour maintains that Harris had all parts in the decision making process, but, there was no formal agreement as to which cover would actually be used.
