Josimare Gomes was arrested Sunday at her home in Maravilha, Brazil.
Josimare reportedly gouged, and then ate parts of her daughter Brenda Da Silva and then prayed about it. By Monday morning, she was arrested in on of the most gruesome murder scenes Brazil has seen in decades.
The child was reportedly found dead in the bathroom with her eyes pulled out and her tongue missing.
According to the Civil Police, Josimare ‘s father made the discvery after returning home and noticing blood pouring out of the drain outside of their home. It is then believed that he found Da Silva ‘s lifeless body in the bathroom but Gomes’ story didn’t quite match up.
Arresting documents show that Josimare ‘s father was able to break down the bathroom door whereas she was found with a pair of kitchen scissors over her daughter. Prosecutors believe that she used the pair of kitchen scissors to inflict the extraordinary pain on her daughter some of which while she was still alive.
While unclear it is said that Gomes was found with pieces of her daughter’s tongue when her father found them in the bathroom. Gomes remains under psychiatric watch pending jail and such but prosecutors are concerned she may be seriously ill. At least one document shows that she claimed that her 5-year-old daughter was possessed by some sort of demon.
