Americans are getting jailed overseas because they think they can evade quarantine rules in foreign territories

The not always mentioned Cayman Islands are making headlines this week after two teens were apparently arrested for violating the island’s fairly strict COVID rules. According to officials on the island, American teenager Skylar Mack is currently in prison on the island for failing to quarantine upon her 27 November arrival.

Authorities say that Mack apparently arrived on the island and then refused to comply with initial quarantine rules so a tracking device was placed on her. From there, she managed no less than two days later to remove the tracking device which is where serious problems ensued.

Cops then say that Mack went to an apparent event of some sort on the island in support of her boyfriend Vanjae Ramgeet who has also been arrested on aiding and abetting charges helping someone evade the local quarantine law.
