Gov’t says Americans will receive next stimulus checks in August: Report

Treasury Sec Steve Munchin has announced that in the U.S struggling Americans will receive a 2nd $1,200 check from the IRS in a little less than a month. During his announcement — Munchin made it clear that the GOP had bowed to demands from those who actually call the shots.

“We’re not going to use taxpayer money to pay people more to stay home,” Mnuchin told reporters outside the Capitol following a meeting with lawmakers Saturday, referencing the $600 bonus for those left without a job during the pandemic.

“I think workers and Americans understand the concept that you shouldn’t be paid more to stay home than to work,” Mnuchin reiterated during an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallae Sunday morning.

“The fair thing is to replace wages,” he continued.

This would be the 2nd of what may be even more stimulus checks sent to Americans as the economic fallout from the Coronavirus continues to go even further south. Upwards of 1.4m+ people were added to the unemployment claim line according to the Department of Labor and their latest numbers.
