So I gave @CWKatyKeene a shot — here’s how that went

The CW has long been one of my guilty pleasure networks for reasons that I can’t quite pinpoint but I’m pretty sure they have something to do with me living in Brooklyn; being 25, a magazine editor, and living alone. I’m just not at liberty to confirm or deny that.

Perusing their app on Wednesday — I finally came across Katy Keene (I had already seen a few ads on T.V but before having actually noticed it with my own eyes, I had never thought about watching it.) But putting it lightly, I would’ve been mad had I not watched it. It’s enduring; crass, deliciously relatable, and totally New York. Gloria is by far the definition of a New York boss — but that’s all I’m going to say.

One of my favourite standouts from the show is definitely Jorge, a person, who quite literally stops at nothing to chase his Broadway dreams.

Katy Keene is about a young woman who aspires to be a fashion designer, but, when she finally completes her move to the Big Apple instead she ended up being a personal shopper for Lacy’s Department Store — where the devil-wears-prada-ish Gloria is ready to stop on command and quite literally kill.

Katy (Lucy Hale) is bubbly; friendly, and lives with her quirky collection of roommates in an eerily overpriced apartment owned by the parents of her roommate Jorge. Young; partying, and affirming Katy Keene is one of my T.V In Quarantine Recommendations for the weekend.
