This must be reiterated that you should still be able to go to the store; retrieve medicine, and likely even go see your friends and whatnot if you’re brave. At 8pm — the following services and places will be forcibly shut under government orders. Now whether or not most of these stores are actually open in the area(s) described — remains to be determined as allot of them have voluntarily closed.
THIS IS NOT A FORMAL LOCKDOWN. WHILE THINGS ARE BEING TOLD TO LOCKDOWN (I.E SERVICES; RESTAURANTS, AND THOSE ON THIS LIST) IT IS NOT A FORMAL LOCKDOWN ORDER. AT LEAST NOT YET. FROM WHAT WE UNDERSTAND NYC WILL NOT SEE SIMILAR LOCKDOWN ORDERS LIKE THOSE IN ITALY. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THE MISINFORMATION FLOATING AROUND. YOU SHOULD STILL FOLLOW QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATIONS TO PROTECT YOURSELF; THE COMMUNITY, AND YOUR LOVED ONES.
Wherever you are out there please do your best to keep your families safe; warm, and fed. These are some unchartered times as many have us have never actually lived through something like this. Please remember you’re not alone — and likely will live (if you’re in a high-risk category please quarantine yourself your life might depend on it as will others if you get sick.)
- Restaurants (bars/restaurants will become takeout/delivery only. Do not attempt to physically go out to eat.)
- Gyms; the remaining schools still open, movie theatres and related places will also all be forcibly closed under government orders.
- We’ve confirmed with the Governor’s office that takeout orders will be lawfully allowed to include alcohol items.*
- This also includes concert venues and gatherings of more than 50 people. All nightclubs have also been ordered to cease business until further notice.
During the declaration that the move had been moved up to Monday, Cuomo released the following statement. It’s worth noting that there are at least 1k cases now in the state of New York.
“We have agreed to a common set of rules that will pertain in all of our states — so don’t even think about going to a neighbouring state because there’s going to be a different set of conditions,” Gov. Cuomo said of the three-state ban. “I believe we’re the only region in the country that has done this.”
”I think the federal government should have set up a uniform set of rules, so, absent that, regional coordination is imperative,” he added.
