LONDON — It’s official. a formal request to divorce the ruler of Dubai on behalf of Princess Haya has been made. According to The Telegraph, Al-Maktoum himself has filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage.
What remains to be seen is how exactly the U.K will act against Princess Haya and whether or not they will force her hoome. Princess Haya is believed to be in the Emirati Royal Family ‘s massive mansion located deep within Kensington Palace Gardens.
Initially, Princess Haya fled the royal palace in Dubai last month headed for Germany. But — for whatever reason she diverted to the United Kingdom and reportedly hopes to “restart her life there”. The royal, 45, alleges that one of the main reasons for seeking divorce is the fact that Al-Maktoum has pretty much killed his own daughters and threw them in jail.
As the ruler of Dubai, Al-Maktoum wields absolute power. The U.K courts will hear the case on 30 July.
