UK researchers find shocking discovery in shrimp research

Shrimp1They may be one of the most beloved seafood out there, although,  researchers have discovered something that could slightly change that. In a lengthy essay for Kings College London,  researchers found that in their latest study all of their recipients came back with traces of cocaine in their systems (after having consumed shrimp).

Scientists found that both small traces of ketamine and cocaine were found in all study recipients who consumed shrimp over a period of time (in a controlled environment).  Scientists do however say — that it isn’t the shrimp itself that may have such substances in it but rather the pollutants that come with the seafood itself.

The study was conducted over 15 different sites in Britain nearby Suffolk County.  It’s interesting to also note that scientists wanted to stress the idea that shrimp in the area are still okay (themselves).
