DALLAS – It was a good day for one Muhlaysia Booker, at least, until she left her house thinking her day was going to be great. Documents and police reports obtained by The Daily News show that Muhlaysia Booker [a transgender woman in Texas] was beaten by a man and his accomplice that police claim were paid to carry out the attack.

The video, which is shown inside this link (I’m not allowed to show it here) clearly shows the man — which has now been identified as 29-year-old Edward Thomas. Thomas has been charged on multiple counts of aggravated assault and battery. Police are working to identify the secondary suspect.
The Daily News has learned in context how the attack reportedly played out. Police noted in reports we obtained that Thomas apparently witnessed (?) Booker back into his car and then attempt to flee. A feat that then allegedly prompted Thomas to chase Booker down, uh, demanding that she pay for the damages or else.

“That’s what your faggot ass gets,” “Get that faggot out of our hood,” and “Shoot that punk ass,” police said they determined the two men said.
Thomas has denied the last half of the attack.
