But the world is just now learning that. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ayler died back on 18 November at the age of 88 according to her family. Ayler famously played the mother-in-law of Bill Cosby in the “The Cosby Show” as the character Carrie Hanks.
Ayler was born Ethel Spraggins in 1930 in Alabama, and, went on to study in Nashville during her youth.
