Porter, is the first of six officers to stand trial in the death of Freddie Gray, who died at their hands while handcuffed and shackled in the back of a police van. Medical examiners at the time announced that Gray had died of a broken neck, among other things, after reportedly having been “slammed” against the back of the police van.

Prosecutors in the case are sticking to their guns, with claims, that  all of the officers involved knew what they were doing — and still refused to grant Gray access to the medical help he repeatedly requested.
