LONDON — Police have confirmed to Daily News U.K that the stabbing that occurred at Leytonstone Station over the weekend is indeed being treated as a terrorist attack. The attack, reportedly occurred around 7:49pm in the suburb of Leytonstone per Metropolitan Police.
Metropolitan police say they are seriously investigating reports that say the knife-wielding assailant shouted “This is for Syria” before stabbing away inside of the station. One man, 56, was rushed to an East London hospital after suffering some pretty serious injuries — he remains in stable condition.
The attack has since spawned #YouAintNoMuslimBruv on social media sites like Twitter, showing, perhaps, solidarity and unity within Muslims in London as a whole.
