News has now been confirmed that Ryan Lizza, of the New Yorker, has been fired from his post as a Washington correspondent. According to reports, the firing comes amid (you guessed it) sexual misconduct allegations from various women.
First reported by The Hill, The New Yorker, apparently learned last week that an accuser against Lizza had plans to come forward. In her claims, she, claims that Lizza had “severely acted in the wrong” during their previous relationship (also in several sexual ways, which allegedly constitute sexual misconduct”.
The New Yorker, released the following statement following news of his firing.
The New Yorker recently learned that Ryan Lizza engaged in what we believe was improper sexual conduct. We have reviewed the matter and, as a result, have severed ties with Lizza.”
