A 15-year-old Tennessee student who was allegedly kidnapped by her teacher and taken to California is back home, a lawyer for the girl’s family said Friday, April 21, 2017. The girl is being evaluated and treated by mental health experts specializing in trauma, lawyer Jason Whatley said in a press release. Authorities credit the caretaker of a remote northern California property for helping police find her and arrest her alleged abductor, fired teacher Tad Cummins. Court documents posted online today  have now revealed the extent in which  Elizabeth Thomas allegedly  faced at home, which eventually, pushed her to leave Tennessee with her teacher. According to the documents,  Cummins,  had “Preyed on her willingness to escape the alleged abuse at the hands of her mom”.

Yes, her mom.

Documents allege that for some time  Thomas was allegedly being abused at the hands of her mom for “reasons that extended far beyond the occasional bad grade”.    Which came out to be true.  According to records search on Kimberly Thomas, last year, she was indicted on four counts of child abuse against her children (she has 10 of them).

The Thomas’s have a reported 10 children, whereas, she stands accused of abusing five of them (the fifth being Elizabeth). A restraining order has since been granted to prevent Kimberly from speaking out against Elizabeth in any way or about her disappearance. Meanwhile,    Elizabeth’s father has had sole custody of all 10 children since  the disappearance of his daughter and his divorce.
