MICHIGAN — One woman learned the hard way of lying to the law. According to police, Leiha Artman was sentenced to one year in jail this weekend after police discovered that a recent story she told about being abducted by four black men, er, was false.

Artman had apparently concocted the story herself, although why, remains a mystery. Police say the woman claimed that she had been abducted by the four men after they stopped her to ask for directions. Then, her boyfriend went as far as to reportedly have received photos of Artman bound and gagged.

Artman maintains that she was raped, although, by whom police aren’t positive.
