Obama’s Five Best Lines from the Democratic Convention

While Hillary's own comments at the DNC were pretty interesting, Obama, and his own comments were even more interesting. Rounding up the five best zingers from President Obama, here they are. "What we heard in Cleveland last week wasn’t particularly Republican—and it sure wasn't conservative," Obama said of the GOP convention. "What we heard was a deeply pessimistic vision of a country where we turn against each other, and turn away from the rest of the world," he continued, saying that isn't the America that he knows. "Time and again, you’ve picked me up. I hope, sometimes, I picked you up, too. Tonight, I ask you to do for Hillary Clinton what you did for me. I ask you to carry her the same way you carried me," Obama told the delegates. "Because you're who I was talking about 12 year...

Hillary’s Five Best Lines from the Democratic Convention

Democratic people unite. The Democratic Convention is well underway in Philly and we've rounded up the best five lines from Hillary's acceptance speech to become the Democratic nominee for President. "It's true," Clinton said. "I sweat the details of policy—whether we're talking about the exact level of lead in the drinking water in Flint, Michigan, the number of mental health facilities in Iowa, or the cost of your prescription drugs. Because it's not just a detail if it's your kid, if it's your family. It's a big deal. And it should be a big deal to your president." "We're going to give small businesses a boost. Make it easier to get credit," said Clinton, who promised that creating more jobs with rising wages would be her primary mission. "Way too many dreams die in the parking lots...

FBI CHIEF: Defeating ISIS will bring new challenges

The defeat of ISIS is on the minds of everybody, but, if you ask the federal bureau of investigations -- their defeat will bring new challenges in the war of terror.  Speaking to The New York Times,   James Carney claimed that a terrorism diaspora would occur if ISIS was fully defeated in Syria. "It'll bring new challenges to the safety of everyday Americans" Carney said to the Times.  Furthermore, at a Cyber Security conference in New York City, Secretary of State zjohn Kerry claimed that ISIS had been driven out of large portions of its territories in Syria and Iraq.

In praise of the U.K’s. Soap stars

As you've likely noticed, we've been keeping tabs on the Republican National Convention in the U.S., where things have been a little bit strange to say the least. Donald Trump was officially nominated for president, Melania Trump plagiarised Michelle Obama, and most recently, former candidate Ted Cruz got up on stage and essentially revolted against Trump's candidacy (or at least refused to offer his support for the business mogul). It's been a pretty bizarre week in politics! But if you've been following closely, you may have noticed that another strange aspect of the convention has been the array of celebrities Mr. Trump has chosen to represent him. In particular, the convention has been mocked for roping in B-list actors (sorry, Scott Baio) and soap stars. Indeed, both Kimberlin Brow...

Pokemon Go: Border crossings, and illegal ones

People still haven't largely caught on to the many safety warnings regarding this apparent game. According to Canadian officials, two teens from Alberta were apparently detained after illegally crossing into Momtana while playing the popular mobile phone game. The teens were apparently so engrossed in their phones, that, they hadn't realized that they had crossed into America. On the bright side, they were temporarily reunited with their mother after being held at the Canadian American border by officials. No charges will be pressed against the unidentifief Pokemon trainers.

Donald Trump is officially the GOP Nominee for U.S President

And people are freaking out about it.   At the Republican Convention in Cleveland,  Trump, officially clinched the Republican nomination with the missing 89 delegates required from New York City.  Armed and surrounded by his children,  Trump, diligently accepted the nomination to the excitement of many of his, er, energetic supporters. The formal announcement of the nomination from House speaker Paul Ryan, came, after a small  hang up from Alaska after they apparently contested the delegate count on behalf of Trump. "Accordingly, the chair announces that Donald J. Trump, having received a majority of these votes … has been selected as the Republican Party nominee for the president of the United States," Ryan said.

Melania Trump totally stole one of Michelle Obama ‘s speeches at the RNC

Melania Trump is, er, apparently a woman who can't talk for herself. So, this morning, we're going to play a game.  Here are 5 rounded up points from Trump 's "Keynote Speech" that are and exactly far too familiar to things Michelle Obama has said in the past almost right down to the exact wording. See the original Obama speech here. "When it comes to my husband, I will say that I'm definitely biased and for good reason. I have been with Donald for 18 years and have been aware of his love for this country since we first met." "I traveled the world while working hard in the incredible arena of fashion. I arrived in New York City 20 years ago and saw both the joys and hardships of daily life. ... In July 2006 i was very proud to become citizen [sic] of the United States, the grea...

Kim Kardashian ‘s Taylor Swift-Kanye West Snapchat brouhaha explained

Today's biggest story in Hollyweird, stars Kim Kardashian-West; Taylor Swift, and Kanye West.  Except this time,  the story has now turned as to whether or not Taylor Swift will admit that she is a cold-blooded pop star with a penchant for lying. Early this morning, Kim Kardashian released what has now probably become one of the most watched Snapchat videos of all-time. In the video,  Kardashian and hubby Kanye West are heard on the phone with Taylor Swift in pretty cordial voices discussing the now infamous "Famous" song whereas West referenced Swift as a "bitch". The same song, and the same conversation, that Swift claims, er, she had no knowledge of. The video, per Vox, lends much credibility to the longtime rumor that Swift happens to be a vengeful celebrity who will drag another...

Kim Kardashian just proved Taylor Swift is a huge liar: Top Story

If you haven't been living under a Hollywood rock, you've probably heard by now that Kim K; Kanye West, and Taylor Swift are still beefing over that "Famous" song  released earlier this year. In the song,  West, referenced Swift as a "Bitch" and claimed he had made her famous. The controversy first started after  West had noted that Swift had given her permission for use of the lyric, and the song entirely, indicating that she was okay with such. But, Swift, later came out and said otherwise (however, we now know that was a lie). Kim Kardashian took it upon herself over the weekend to settle the longstanding rumor as to whether or not Swift is actually lying about ever having even slightly indicated that she approved of the song. If you haven't seen the Snaps yet, head on over her...

Clinton wants amendment to take out Citizens United

All political watchers across both sides, likely, have at least some sort of knowledge as to what Citizens United is. Among them, perhaps, Hillary Clinton - Democratic Presidential Nominee - and now a person who wants to abolish the law all together.   Citizens United was a 2010 ruling that opened the doors for massive corporate political donations, something, that Bernie Sanders vehemently opposed and fought against. Now, Clinton has picked up some of his causes. "Today I’m announcing that in my first 30 days as president, I will propose a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and give the American people—all of us—the chance to reclaim our democracy," Clinton said in a video for Netroots Nation. "I will also appoint Supreme Court justices who understand that this dec...

Apparently 60% of Americans are divided on either Trump or Clinton

According to a new ABC News poll out today (view the file here).  The poll indicates that there are strong divided between the two candidates as some voters feel that Trump is unfit for the White House and problematic when it comes to women and minorities.  Others for Clinton, however, feel flat out that she is unqualified. 1179a2BeforetheConventions
