U.S bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks (nationwide) gains steam, will it become law?

Franks1It’s another day in politics for the United States — a country so vicariously bent on politics  it’s almost an everyday discussion next to the obvious entertainment fodder. According to Newser,  U.S  Republicans reportedly passed a bill through the House that would imminently ban abortions after twenty weeks (apparently  regardless of rape or not).

As critics have already pointed out — the bill probably won’t gain any steam when it hits the Senate (especially) seeming its sponsor  Rep. Trent Franks R-Ariz made a bizarre comment claiming  ‘Rapes don’t cause pregnancies’ which sparked immediate comparisons to that of Todd Akin who had once claimed ‘legit rapes don’t happen’.
