In a stunning turn of events as the UAE aims to diminish reports of a kidnapping -- Princess Latifa has surfaced. According to reports, Latifa has surfaced in a series of Instagram photographs by an unknown woman at a shopping mall in the Emirates. British man sentenced and convicted for spying in the UAE

Allegedly that is, uh, if you ask officials in the UAE.  Apparently another not-so brilliant traveler went into territories that really aren't meant for outsiders. Matthew Hodges, 31,   found himself accused of spying for a foreign power over the summer -- thus -- being charged with the UAE's definition of a life-sentence in prison (a maximum of 25 years at that). According to dockets obtained by The Daily News,  officials,   pretty much strong-armed Hodges into confessing that he was a spy "in a language he didn't even understand".    Documents from Hodges' travel report show that  he does not speak or read Arabic, however, UAE officials forced him to sign a confession in such a language. The UAE is holding a foreign head of state hostage in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES --    There's an unusual problem  brewing in the UAE this week. The Daily News has received a copy of an apparent video that we've now discovered (it was originally released Sunday,  and just now, arrived in our newsroom). The video, which at the request of the Qatari government and Royal Family will not be shown in this newspaper. However, we are permitted to discuss it. On Sunday, a reported Youtube video of  Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali al-Thani  appeared online claiming that the Abu Dhabi government and  the region's Crown Prince were "holding him hostage"  rather than hosting him. "I'm currently in Abu Dhabi, being hosted by Sheikh Mohamed. But this is not a hosting status. Rather, it is a 'holding' one. They told me not to move," he says in the video....
