Sad news in the movie industry today. According to reports and the rep for Carol Sutton, the Steel Magnolias star has passe away after a relatively secret battle with COVID-19. Sutton recently appeared in QUEEN SUGAR. / Own Network The mayor of New Orleans, however, was the first to confirm the news that the legendary star had passed away after her bout with COVID. It is unclear when she contracted the deadly virus.

Williams-Sonoma founder, is dead at 100

SAN FRANCISCO -- Sad news for cooking fans far-and-wide.  According to statements from Chuck Williams' family,  the beloved  founder passed away from natural causes at the age of 100. He, opened the first Williams-Sonoma store in 1956. So, what inspired such a large empire?  Apparently a trip to Paris three years earlier. I couldn't get over seeing so many great things for cooking, the heavy pots and pans, white porcelain ovenware, country earthenware, great tools and professional knives," Williams told the Washington Post in 2005.

The Name of the Rose author, 84, dies

La Republica has reportedly confirmed that blockbuster author  Umberto Eco, 84, who was perhaps best known for his major blockbuster novel The Name of the Rose in 1980 -- has passed away. Per additional reports in the New York Daily News, Eco,  was an "extraordinary example of intellectualism within Europe" as an individual who was virtually unknown until much later in life.
