The bill would nationalise LGBTQ protections for the first time. It would also see key parts of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 categorically edited -- although it would stop short of fully legitimizing LGBTQ persons across the board without intervention from religious extremists.
Parts of the bill aim to additionally protect LGBTQ persons from discrimination in housing; workplaces, public spaces, and banking.
