Affirmative Action; Black Students, and Judge Scalia

This week the United States Supreme Court heard an interesting case about colleges; black students, and said colleges use of affirmative action. In the hearing,  the court heard of how some colleges are "admitting students simply based on the fact they're black". To some, perhaps, including Scalia that's a problem. Scalia claims that putting "black students in colleges because they're black" would actually hurt them more academically than anything.  "They may suffer" if they didn't get into the school based on actual academic accomplishments. "There are those who contend that it does not benefit African Americans to get them into the University of Texas where they do not do well, as opposed to having them go to a less-advanced school, a slower-track school where they do well. Trump Admin to revoke Obama-era guidelines on college admissions

College admissions in certain schools (particularly Harvard in this case) are about to get a whole lot more interesting. Sources tell the Wall Street Journal that  the Trump Administration is reportedly preparing to "revoke the Obama-era guidelines that often suggested that colleges should use race as means to promote diversity and deeply diversify the pool of admissions at said college". Translation: Affirmative Action.    Per  the Journal, the Trump Administration feels that such  situations (i.e Affirmative Action for example) run-a-muck of the law and therefore cannot be  used  via said guidelines in determining who should get into college and quite possibly how.
