A new twist in the saga of allegations brought against Joe Biden by Tara Reade. According to Kelly Klett, the lawyer who says she rented a room to her at one point in their history, Reade is manipulative and attempting to plant a bizarre story. In a series of interviews over the weekend, Klett told numerous outlets that when Reade stayed with her in 2018 after renting a room — there was quite literally no mention of anything otherwise negative about Joe Biden.
‘In the time that she lived with me in close proximity, there was never one allegation against Joe Biden that was disparaging,’ said Klett
She spoke to me about Joe Biden and her experience with him,’ said Klett, who added that Reade said she worked on the 1994 Violence Against Women Act.
‘It was positive and in a bragging sense.’ Interestingly, Klett noted in the same Politico.com report that Reade called her in 2019 after first having gone public with the allegations against Joe Biden. Things at that point, er, took quite the bizarre turn.
I felt two things when she contacted me: that she was feeling me out to see if I would represent her pro bono,’ said Klett.
‘And there was a sense that she was trying to plant a story with me, so she could later say: “I told the story to this attorney I worked with” Politico.com quotes Klett as having said.
Perhaps this draws a similar conclusion to previously published reports that Tara Reade may actually be exaggerating parts of the assault claim. Klett, as noted, lived with her on Klett ‘s 30 acre farm whereas she says Reade ‘s story just doesn’t add up to what she was told while they lived together.
‘I support women who have been assaulted. Unfortunately, I cannot support Tara Reade,’ siad Klett.
‘When she first contacted me regarding this issue, she could not provide enough credible information. And since that time the story has evolved in the media. I question her motives.’
