Senate won’t consider more stimulus relief until at least June: Reports

Depending on who you ask (politician wise anyway) the need for more relief for financially-strapped Americans certainly varies. Democrats are racing to pass more stimulus relief (before the damage done is close-to-irreversible), meanwhile, Republicans are hitting pause on any and all related bills.

What’s the 411?

According to Vox, Republicans are seeking to hit pause until at least June while they of course go on recess. In the meantime, top brass feel as if the current relief out is enough for the time being. Now that alone has become a hot-button point as many disagree with them, mostly, the average American currently trying to figure out how to pay their rent and put food on the table.

Senate Republicans argue that not enough time has passed to allow Washington officials to see where and how the money already allotted is or will be used. While that in itself might seem like a logical talking point, that talking point isn’t sticking well with most considering Americans are faring worse-and-worse as each day passes by.

What are Republicans main demands?

As it has been previously noted, Republicans are demanding that any of the next stimulus bills (because in the matter of more relief it isn’t a matter of if but rather when) include liability protections for business. This alike many other Republican talking points, has been a severe point of contention considering it favours big business over the very people that make those businesses possible.
