LONDON — Big news on the front of one ISIS sympathizer who sought to return to the U.K after having ran off to war zones when she was all but 15 or so years old.
The back-story here is quite important for anyone having not previously followed. I first wrote about Begum after she was found in an ISIS refugee camp pregnant by an actual terrorist. At the time of that finding, Begum as widely reported by numerous other outlets was stripped of her British passport and indefinitely barred from the country.
Now according to her lawyer, she is claiming to be “stateless” which is actually illegal under international law on many sides of the political spectrum.
Both of Begum ‘s parents are Bangladeshi citizens as she is also by descent, which according to the government means that it is impossible that she is stateless. Her lawyer Daniel Furner reportedly plans to appeal the appeal once again.
