As expected — the United States Senate has voted along party lines to acquit Donald Trump of all crimes in which he was accused. Initially there were two impeachment articles lodged against Trump, although along narrow party lines Republicans kept their sheep in herds and managed to avoid Trump being convicted.

Mitt Romney was the only Senator to break with his party having revealed his intentions earlier today. Most other Republicans remained firm on their decision to acquit Trump despite mounting evidence that he had committed a number of questionable actions that under normal circumstances likely would’ve led to a conviction.
