Exciting news in the world of theater Macbeth is playing in town.

Hunter Theater Project under the producing genius of Gregory Mosher is presenting an all-female production of William Shakespeare Macbeth under the direction of Erica Schmidt.

This plays a seven-week run at Hunter College’s Frederick Loewe Theatre, January 6–February 22.

Tickets here.

As a theater student at Hunter College, I was able to attend a dress rehearsal during tech weeks prior to previews and opening night. There has been tremendous growth all around with each actresses’ engagement of their respected characters.

As an audience member during this 90-minute run, you’ll hear Macbeth anew. The voices of the women on stage brings a different understanding of the life of Shakespeare’s work that isn’t heard often. If that isn’t enough it rains for about 8 minutes inside of the theater which is wicked awesome by itself.
