House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has confirmed as of today that articles of impeachment against Donald Trump will proceed — and the American public will now learn exactly what charges in full Trump may end up standing trial for.
During a prepared statement on Thursday, Pelosi confirmed such in a statement as seen below.
“The president’s actions are a profound violation of the public trust,” Pelosi said. “His wrongdoing strikes at the very heart of our Constitution.” So, she concluded, “Today, I am asking our chairmen to proceed with articles of impeachment.”
The articles are expected in the coming days and are expected to be drafted by multiple Representatives including Rep Jerry Nadler and Rep Adam Schiff.
