Robert Mueller: Charging Trump “not something we could consider”

Mostly it appears that Department of Justice protocol prevents a sitting President from being charged with a crime. On Wednesday, former Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III took to a press conference.

Notably Mueller confirmed three big ticket things from the investigation.

  1. Mueller is closing the office and retiring to private life.
  2. The presser confirmed in his own words that due to protocol — Trump could not be charged, although, he did not rule out Congressional intervention to remove Trump from office.
  3. The Special Counsel also notably said that “words speak for themselves”.

Particularly this quote is standing out to most and a clear indicator, that Mueller is handing any remaining reigns to the actual lawmakers.

“Beyond what I’ve said here today and what is contained in my written report, I do not believe it is appropriate for me to speak further.”
