Job searches are spiking again

Job searches in America are spiking as GOP overlords are taking to legislative desks to stop people from getting any more of the federally mandated unemployment help.    This week sites like Indeed.com have announced that for several days searches rose at least 5% or more as people scrambled to find hopefully a decent job.

Here are some friendly tips to keep in mind:

  1. Negotiate your worth.
  2. Your health and safety are non-negotiable.
  3.  If in an industry or profession that has a union you should probably consider joining up.
  4. Mental health days are now more important than ever before. Do not let someone take that from you costing you your health or worse your life.
  5. When negotiating you should probably have benefits somewhere in there. IRA; 401k, health insurance (decent insurance at that),  and some form of "time off" for yourself and to recharge your brain.
  6. Be sure to get any formal negotiations set in stone and in writing in some form.  By getting in writing, it is cemented and therefore you can always refer back.
