Funeral plans for the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II have been formally announced. According to Buckingham Palace, the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth is set to take place 9 days from today marking a series of formal events before she is formally laid to rest next to Prince Phillip inside the Royal Vault.
The Queen is currently in her temporary resting place inside the Ballroom area of Balmoral likely under intense guard.
Sunday morning, her coffin will embark on a six-hour journey to Edinburgh and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. On Monday her coffin per the announcement will travel to St Giles’s Cathedral for a service attended by the King and Queen Consort, and a congregation made up “from all areas of Scottish society,” the senior palace official said.
