Stats show 70% of Black community in Louisiana accounts for Coronavirus cases

An alarming new stat on the Coronavirus front has people rightfully talking. According to The Hill, the stats emerge out of places like Louisiana where the Department of Health confirmed that the black community makes up for 70 percent of cases there despite only making up about 32% of the population.

“That deserves more attention, and we’re going to have to dig into that and see what we can do to slow that trend down,” Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) said Monday.

Lawmakers across both spectrums have now called for extensive racial breakdowns of those infected by the virus to better understand how communities are handling it.
