Fan of family guy? Great. But what trumps Family Guy, perhaps, comes in the form of The Simpsons.  The iconic T.V show has officially as of today, uh, been on airwaves for 30 years.   The first episode of the Simpson’s actually aired as a skit special during a talk-show on April 19 1987.

Matt Groening, the creator, was originally supposed to have created a comic skit for his Life in Hell bit. But,  instead he found himself creating the Simpson’s characters that were aptly named after members of his own family.  Notoriously, the skits for the Simpson’s appeared for dozens of sketches on The Tracey Ullman Show. Several years later in 1989, The Simpson’s would officially be born by means of its own show.
