NYC Parademics: They told us if someone can’t be revived, leave them where we found them

Harrowing new details are out today in New York ‘s fight against the Coronavirus. Medics spoke to the New York Post today revealing that their bosses have told them certain patients suffering from things like cardiac arrest, and who cannot be revived, are to be left at the scene in which they were found. They will be worked on but they will not be taken to the hospital, exponentially increasing the chances of even more people dying.

The New York Post reports that a letter was delivered to ambulance services that indicates the following:

No adult non-traumatic or blunt traumatic cardiac arrest is to be transported to a hospital with manual or mechanical compression in progress without either return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) or a direct order from a medical control physician unless there is imminent physical danger to the EMS provider on the scene.’

It adds: ‘In the event a resuscitation is terminated, and the body is in public view, the body can be left in the custody of the NYPD.’

The letter also adds that if a pulse cannot be gotten upon arrival, patients will not be transported for further care.
