Because fuck — people get weirder and weirder as the days go on and this man in Atlanta is the latest example. According to the Atlanta Police Department, Taurence Callagain, 36, is in jail this week after raping a young woman who identified as a lesbian.
Police ???? intentionally mentioned that part of the woman’s identity because they claim that the man pretended to be gay when he met her in 2015. According to police reports, Callagain met the young woman at Atlanta’s West End station that year.
After having missed the train that night, Callagain convinced the young woman to allow him to give her a ride home. It was there that he stopped off to get marijuana, but then managed to con the young woman into coming inside of his house. During the assault, he allegedly told her that if she screamed or tried to escape he’d have his boys come in and hold her down.
According to a statement from the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, “The victim is a lesbian and has a female partner who she was is in a relationship with when she met the defendant.”
The statement continues: “Callagain led the victim to believe he was gay, so she was under the impression that their relationship was strictly platonic.”
