Trump attempted to secretly host the Taliban, now he’s cancelled those talks: Reports

Trump1

This week saw quite the development in the longstanding attempt to end the deadly saga between Taliban soldiers and the United States government. On Sunday, it had emerged that the government reportedly had secret talks with Taliban leaders at Camp David planned for this week — but those have now been abruptly called off.

The talks were “planned” weeks in advance according to sources close to the White House, although many were surprised that they were actually about to come to fruition considering that meant Taliban leaders had to come to America.

On Monday, Taliban leaders emerged online via a number of their platforms (including a Telegram chatroom) claiming that they would continue the fight in Afghanistan “for 100 years on”. The claim by Taliban comes amid further claims that the Taliban had actually cancelled the invitation to Camp David weeks ago, but Trump did not acknowledge that.

Trump ‘s abrupt “cancellation” of the talks come amid the anniversary of the 11 September attacks that took the lives of so many Americans and Afghanistan ‘s own elections later this month. Both equally turbulent times for both Americans and Afghan citizens. According to a translated message found in their Telegram chatroom, the Taliban has promised to kill as many Americans as possible in the country and even their own people.

Many Taliban leaders reportedly feel that a “ceasefire” which is believed to have been part of Trump ‘s “peace plan” is totally out of the question.
