Candace Owens: White people were responsible for Obama ‘s Presidency, he should be grateful

With the release of Obama's memoir finally here -- many are talking including the aforementioned Candace Owens who will find any excuse to talk bad about Black people. In an interview with Sean Hannity, Owens took the opportunity for airtime and a reason to run-her-mouth when asked about Obama and his memoir and how she apparently feels that white people were responsible for his Presidency. 'The language that he's using, the rhetoric that is coming out of former Barack Obama's mouth is nothing short of absolutely despicable in my opinion,' Owens told Hannity of the book's accusations about Republicans.   'This is a man who ran on the American dream. Everyone remembers where they were the night Barack Obama won. There was a kinetic energy on the ground it felt like we...

Florida expands Stand Your Ground law to target protesters and alleged rioters

The state of Florida is making headlines this week because they’ve updated their controversial Stand Your Ground law (the law that initially resulted in George Zimmerman getting away with murder.) The Stand Your Ground law for those that don’t know is a controversial law that allows pretty much anyone to act as a police officer if they feel they’re in danger or may witness what they see as a crime. The problem with the law is that it made international headlines after George Zimmerman claimed under that law he had the right to murder a Black teenager named Trayvon Martin — who was doing nothing more than walking to and from 7-11. But it gets worse... As defined by Florida law: If the person reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily...

Remember Amy Cooper? She’s back in the news — here’s why

The white woman identified as Amy Cooper in the bizarre Central Park incident earlier this year is back in the news. According to the Manhattan DA ‘s office and the prosecutors in the case — they’ve uncovered that she made a 2nd phone call falsely telling police that Christian Cooper (no relation) tried to violently assault her. Apparently, when the cops arrived they attempted to investigate both phone calls but Cooper had then informed them at the time that such an attempt of assault never actually happened. Christian Cooper is a Black man — this could have ended a very different way for the New York man. Cooper has since been charged with a misdemeanor count of falsely reporting a fake crime to the police.

Tax cuts; deceptive investments, and @ATT ‘s ginormous lie

For anybody who remembers -- 2017 was the year of tax cuts for the rich and for mega-businesses. Telco and content provider AT&T was indeed no different than others and received a wide-range of government favours as a result of said tax cuts. At the time of those tax cuts and their announcements, AT&T falsely claimed in a statement that the cuts would lead to vast improvements company-wide and for its employees. None of those promises ever came to fruition. “By immediately lowering the corporate tax rate to 20 percent, this bill will stimulate investment, job creation and economic growth in the United States,” AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said at the time. “Research tells us that every $1 billion in capital invested in telecom creates about 7,000 good jobs for the ...

Daily News Asks: Why haven’t we explored the ocean?

One question I've always wondered since the dawn of time is why haven't we explored the parts of the ocean that haven't been fully explored.? Credit: NatGeo It has quite literally been said on numerous occasions that only about 5% of the ocean has been topographically explored. Considering the ocean spans much of the modern planet in which we live -- that's pretty telling about just how unknown the world in which we call home really is. It's telling that orgs like NASA have spent the better have of their existence pushing the race to space -- forthcomingly causing society-at-large to almost entirely forget about the ocean. Factoid: We've explored so much of space and almost all of Venus, but have absolutely no idea what is underneath is in the ocean right now as we speak. ...

Gender-bending pop star says personal pronouns are “attention-seeking”

In perhaps what may be the most ironic thing I've ever heard -- Boy George is in the headlines today. George, who has made millions off of being a makeup-wearing; gender-bending pop tart has quite the thought on personal pronouns and most modern queers. As a queer person myself, this is a level of offensive that George obviously doesn't understand and goes to show that he is out of touch with the very same community he used to make millions.
